With reference to my despatch No.271 of 30th April, 1936, I have the honour to report that I have granted to the Honourable Mr. Stanley Hudson Dodwell, member of the Legislative Council, leave of absence from the Colony from the 8th August to 25th September, 1936, and that I have appointed Mr. Edgar Davidson, Solicitor of Messrs. Hastings and Company, provisionally and subject to His Majesty's pleasure, to be temporarily an unofficial member of the Council during Mr. Dodwell's absence.
2. A copy of the instrument appointing Mr. Davidson is enclosed.

In accordance with Colonial Regulation 155 I enclose also a list of the present members of the Legislative Council.
